What is it? The Buddha Machine is a small plastic box that plays meditative music composed by Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian.

More than a decade ago the Beijing-based duo of Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian released their first "Buddha Machine" loop box, a quirky pocket sound system that propelled sound art into the consumer mainstream.
